HEFE Liquid Flux is designed to separate the metal oxide from the dross releasing the molten tin metal alloy. It is a surfactant that changes the manner in which contact is made between the surfaces of the metal oxide and the molten metal alloy in a detergent fashion.
At operating temperature, HEFE Liquid Flux acts by means of “soaking” the dross, separating the metal oxide, preventing it from mixing with the molten metal alloy, thus achieving a physico-chemical separation.
The amount of product to use is proportional to the level of oxidation within the dross, the more powdery the input material is, the more product will be required. For reference, approximately 200 grams of product are required per 1 Kg of metal oxide residue.
HEFE Liquid Flux is a non-toxic yellow liquid with a viscosity between 140 cSt and 180 cSt at 40°C [104°F], has a distinctive smell, its density is 0.87 ~ 0.90 g/cm³ at 15.6°C [60°F], is slightly flammable, and it does not leave any residue on the recovered Tin metal alloy material ingots..
RoHS Compliance: Given its organic nature, RoHS does not apply as it does not contain metals, or any other toxic substances considered in the directive.
HEFE Liquid Flux's special formula was developed over many years by the experienced Metallurgical Chemical Engineer Oscar Salazar, a Professor of Material Sciences and Manufacturing Methods and Technologies in Tijuana, Mexico.
